If damage bonuses aren't needed, the next best thing is Dragonfly. This perk causes an AoE explosion based on a weapon's elemental damage type when it deals a precision final blow. While not as powerful as Firefly was in Destiny, Dragonfly in Destiny 2 is a great way of dealing with swarms of enemies. A unique Mod called Dragonfly Spec also. Destiny 2 Elemental Orbs are a drop which appear as part of the annual Solstice of Heroes event. These have two uses - one, collecting them as a requirement for upgrading Solstice armour, and two. Elemental damage is one of the manifestations of Light and Darkness, and can be used to a player's advantage to make their attacks more effective. It comes into play for both Guardians and enemies. Elemental Types[edit]
There are five types of damage types:
Weapons[edit]Weapons can be infused with elemental damage; by default, most weapons only do kinetic damage, but some may come with modifiers. The modifier is indicated not only on the weapon's stats but also in the weapon menu on the HUD. At the common level, only Fusion Rifles do elemental damage, but at higher levels nearly all special and heavy weapons do elemental damage. Only a handful of primary weapons do elemental damage, and most of those weapons are typically acquired in Raids.[1] The damage type on most weapons is random, though some weapons such as Exotics or Legendary Raid weapons have a set damage type.

Subclass Elements in Destiny 2[edit]
Enemies[edit]Elemental damage will do bonus damage against certain types of enemies. The most obvious way to tell if an enemy is weak to a certain damage type is to see what color shield they have; for example, FallenCaptains with blue Absorption shields are weak to Arc attacks. Every race has at least one type of enemy shielded by default but will also have another type of enemy that's shielded whenever the Epic modifier is active (or during certain public events.) [1] In addition to the below list, Nightmare Hunts will also frequently spawn large groups of enemies (typically the lowest class associated with the Nightmare's original race, which normally should not be able to be shielded) with Solar shields that are unusually resistant to even matching elemental damage. Nightmare Breaker mods, obtained from the gamemode, are required to effectively penetrate these shields.
† Indicates enemies that alternate between different shield types. Enemy weapons and abilities typically have their own elemental damage types as well. Normally this doesn't come into play unless players are playing a mission with damage modifiers on. For example, a Nightfall mission with a 300% boost to Arc damage applies to both Guardians and enemies, so enemies that do Arc damage are especially dangerous. Note that Taken versions of enemies will do a different type of elemental damage than the original base enemy.

The weekly Exotic item merchant, Xur, hangs out in random locations around the world of Destiny. In Destiny 2, he can appear all over the map, as well as inside the Tower. This week, you can find Xur in the EDZ, standing on a bluff, overlooking the Winding Cove.

The Jade Rabbit
The Jade Rabbit is a returning Exotic from Destiny. This scout rifle, which was once a PlayStation exclusive, has only one notable perk. The Fate of All Fools Exotic perk causes chained body shots to stack damage on your next precision shot and return ammo to the magazine. The weapon also comes with bonus stability and rounds that deal extra damage to shields.
The Jade Rabbit is much better due to the recent bump in scout rifle damage. If you don’t have this one yet, you should pick it up.
Foetracer
Foetracer is easily one of the most powerful PvP Exotics in Destiny 2. Its Relentless Tracker perk will automatically track enemies through walls and deal additional damage to enemies with low health. While the extra damage is nice, the utility of the tracking is what makes this helmet shine. Every Hunter should have this helmet.

Severance Enclosure
Severance Enclosure is an Exotic from Season of Dawn. Its Exotic perk is Spheromatik Trigger. Elemental melee kills unleash an explosion. Finishers increase the range and power of the explosion, as do kills on more powerful enemies.

This Exotic is unlikely to ever be useful for late-game activities. But it’s a really cool effect if you’re just looking to run around the world of Destiny and punch stuff — as Titans are wont to do.

Felwinter’s Helm
Felwinter’s Helm is a new Warlock Exotic from Season of the Worthy. Its Exotic perk is Warlord’s End. This perk causes elemental kills to explode, weakening nearby enemies caught in the blast. Killing a powerful enemy or using a finisher increases the potency. This is an interesting Exotic, and worth keeping in your Warlock’s arsenal. It also looks really cool.

Exotic Cipher quest
Starting in Beyond Light, Xur has a new quest for an Exotic Cipher. The Exotic Cipher lets you buy old Exotics from the Monuments To Lost Light kiosk in the tower. You’ll need these items and some other currencies to pick up Exotics like Heir Apparent, Truth, and more.
This week, Xur wants you to complete 21 Strikes or win Crucible or Gambit matches. By finishing the quest, you’ll earn an Exotic Cipher to use however you want.
