Incoming 9th Grade Studentsleto Collegiate Academy

Overview written by the school: Astor Collegiate Academy (ACA) is a college preparatory high school. Our focus on college begins in the summer STEM program prior to 9th grade and builds each year as students are given the opportunity to earn college credits through our Advanced Placement (AP) and CUNY College Now programs. Students are required to take a minimum of two advanced math courses, four years of science and earn a diploma with college readiness recognition. In the four years at Astor, students will develop and refine skills in critical thinking, inquiry, and collaborative approaches as they learn to self-advocate and take responsibility for their own learning. Socio-emotional habits are developed and sustained through advisory and college & career seminar courses each year.

The P-TECH and Early College High Schools/Collegiate Academies are designed to serve incoming ninth grade students who have the determination to attend college, are first-generation college students, and have been historically underrepresented in higher education. Each school will accept 125 ninth grade students per year.

Mission: Detroit Collegiate cultivates a love of learning and pursuit of excellence by developing student competence, confidence and character through a focus on active, student-centered learning and a classical approach to education upon which successful, empowered and courageous lives are built and sustained.
